Police Youth Academy

The Simpsonville Police Youth Academy is a two-week program designed to provide local youth, ages 13-16 with first hand knowledge of police policies and procedures and build positive relationships between law enforcement and the young people we serve.

The 2017 Youth Academy will run from July 17 - July 28. Academy sessions are help Monday-Friday from 7:45 am - 3:45 pm.

SPD School Resource Officers from Hillcrest High School, Hillcrest Middle School, and Bryson Middle School will be training the youth cadets on the following topic areas: 

  • Team Builing & Leadership Development
  • CPR Certification
  • Police Procedures
  • Traffic Enforcement
  • Crime Scene Investigation 
  • Tour of Greenville County Detention Center
  • SLED and SWAT Team

The Simpsonville Police Department Youth Academy is a free program that is made possible in part by donations from local businesses as well as private donations. We would like to thank the community for supporting the Simpsonville Youth Academy.

Applications can be submitted in person at the Simpsonville Police Department or emailed to School Resource Officer Madden.
