Officer
Chambers is currently on military deployment and is serving our
Country.
My name
is Paul Chambers and I am one of the Community Patrol Officers for the
Simpsonville Police Department. I have been in the Criminal Justice
profession since 1988. Before that I served 4 years in the US Army where
I was an Infantry Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division
and later a Drill Sergeant.
Since I have
been in the Criminal Justice profession I have worked for the Greenville
County Detention Center as a Detention Officer, the Laurens City Police
Department and the Simpsonville Police Department. I was originally hired
in Simpsonville in 1992. After working here for two years I left and was
rehired in 1995.
During my career I have attended numerous schools and
have developed a diversified portfolio. I have been awarded
acknowledgement as a Traffic Safety Officer by the state of South
Carolina. This award was earned after receiving various certifications in
traffic related courses. I am a state certified Motor Vehicle Collision
Reconstructionist and a Child Safety Seat Technician.
In addition to being in the Community
Support Division
I also serve on the department’s training staff. I instruct a variety of
topics including firearms, police RADAR and Police Bike Patrol. As a
member of the Community Patrol Division I hope to utilize the skills and
resources that I have acquired to better aid the community.
After being
assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division for many years, I was assigned
to the Community Support Division in January of 2002. I am thoroughly
enjoying this change. I encourage citizens to contact me with concerns,
ideas or suggestions that I may be able to assist with. If you see me out
on the road, either in the Community Patrol Blazer or on Bike Patrol, feel
free to flag me down or just wave to say hello. I truly believe that
together you and I CAN make a difference.
